Chin is a recent Central Saint Martins graduate whose menswear line blurs the lines of society’s gender notions.
“Inspired by portraits of transgender women in the 1950s, the Taiwanese designer explores a subversive kind of sensuality”.
Chin Menswear SS16 collection exposes skin and zips, suggesting a subtle kind of fetishism.
Chin’s main source of inspiration was Christer Strömsholm’s book ‘Les Amies de Place Blanche’, a book that portraits transgender women who attended the red light district during the late 50’s to early 60’s Paris.
Chin Menswear SS6 is sexy, classic and calm, “a wonderfully balanced reflection of the androgynous present”.
