“Taglines, porcelain dolls by your side. We won’t smile, we won’t cry. Play with us, or you shall die”

Hong Kong based Röyksopp Gakkai’s Fall/Winter 2015-16 collection has arrived to WeAreSelecters Stores! Titled ‘Kill Baby Kill’, the new collection draws inspiration from Mario Brava’s 1966 evil child horror film  ‘Operazione Paura’ [Kill Baby Kill] and John Carpenter’s 1995 ‘Village of the Damned’. Both about kids who caused unconscious suicide among the villagers. Blond, innocent looking kids with delicate gowns, impeccable German style uniform-like outfits.

The silhouettes are based children's clothes from the 1960s, interpreted with a modern twist. On this occasion designer Chan Brun recurred to fabric manipulation techniques.

Highlights of the collection include a smock dress, pleated skirt with a detachable doll dress and a Peter Pan collar shirt. For coloration, the designer choose warm grey, ash blue in a pastel hue and the immaculate white. Made with peached cotton, wool, corduroy and cashmere. A fascinating collection, with a gore theme, yet appealing soft feel, offering comfort and wearability.
