Milan based brand The Great Sartorial Uprising [TGSU], is focused on a single product - the waistcoat - yet going deeper into storytelling about shapes, high quality fabrics and contemporary fashion calling out for individuality of the wearer. Inspired by the 20th century, when fashion was all about creating your own style.
The Great Sartorial Renunciation describes the fashion experimentations in the British consumer practices during the 1960s, embodying an intellectual riot towards customs and traditions. TGSU garments celebrate these movements, whilst questioning the relation between fashion and tailoring of today.
Soon to be part of our Stores, TGSU presents you a tase of what’s to come for the Fall/Winter 2016-17 season. Inspired by the revolutionary aesthetics of the Sartorial Renunciation movement presenting you hybrid fittings set between classic and modern.
TGSU identified 4 key styles of waistcoats, based on the fundamentals of traditional English tailoring, with classic tweeds for the basic model, as well as patterns as the regimental and herringbone. With the 4 essential style where every single one creates a perfect harmony between shapes and textiles through exquisite Italian craftsmanship.
