How To Enjoy The Jacksonville Jaguars’ ‘New’ Year At The Bank

Let’s face it. Last season was a mess for the Jacksonville Jaguars. One scandal followed another involving Coach Urban Meyer. Now, he’s gone, and fans are excited to see the 2022 Jags begin to build into a championship team.

Nothing would make this season better for Jacksonville fans unless they could place a bet on their favorite team. Unfortunately, Florida sports betting remains bogged down in the courts and may not happen before the season ends early next year.

The Jaguars’ home opener is Sunday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m. for a Week 2 tilt against division rival Indianapolis Colts. Whether you plan to attend that game or at another point in the season, we’ve put together a game-day guide to ensure you get the most out of your time at The Bank.

Longtime Jaguars Senior Editor Vic Ketchman summed it up.

“It’s time to be new.”

And while this statement may have been all too true of a theme for Jaguar fans over the past decade, there’s a lot to be excited about this season. New Head Coach Doug Pederson is a Super Bowl winner, and a pair of first overall picks from the last two drafts, Trevor Lawrence and Travon Walker will be playmakers on either side of the ball.

Best seats in the house

The Jaguars have called TIAA Bank Field home since coming into the league in 1995. It offers excellent sight lines from all seats. And the scoreboards behind both endzones are in the conversation for best in the NFL.

Seating sections are pretty simple to understand at The Bank.

• Lower bowl seating consists of the 100 and 200 levels. The 400 level is up top
• Sections 127 and 145 are above the tunnels
• Sections 101-116 are on the Jaguars’ side of the field; Sections 130-144 are for the visitors
• Premium areas such as suites, Gallagher Club Seating and the terrace and spa cabanas

For afternoon games, the south endzone (Sections 146-150) and the last three rows of the 200 level provide the most shade in the stadium. You will be in the sun all day long if you are on the opponents’ sideline, in the north endzone or anywhere in the upper bowl.

Other areas to check out include the Bud Light Party Zone, located in the lower bowl’s south endzone. It opens two hours before kickoff to pregame and is open for all ticket holders. And if you aren’t about Bud Light, you can enjoy craft beer and cocktails there, too.

For a more kid-friendly setting, the Family Zone (Section 227) prohibits alcohol and using profanity.

There’s parking for everyone, including boats

Parking lots open four hours before kickoff. The cost starts at $35 and goes up from there. Some parking options include:

• Season parking passes
• The Sports Complex Parking Garage: Available on a drive-up basis on game day. (Tailgating is prohibited in this garage.)
• Jacksonville Fairgrounds
• Tailgaters Parking Lot
• Motorcycle parking is available south of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds lot at Duval Street and A. Philip Randolph.
• Boat docking is available for home games by contacting the Jacksonville dockmaster at (904) 630-0839
• Bicycle valet begins three hours before the game for a nominal fee/donation. You may ride your bike to Jaguars home games but cannot lock it to the stadium perimeter fence.

Mobile tickets are a convenient option

All fans are required to possess a ticket to enter the stadium. Ticketmaster is the official ticketing partner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It offers options such as single-game tickets, group tickets, bundle packages and season tickets.

Guests can use mobile tickets through the Jaguars app to enter using self-scan kiosks on game day, which is by far the most convenient option. For hard copies, the ticket office at TIAA Bank Field opens four hours before kickoff and closes at the end of the first quarter.

The Bank doesn’t take cash

Gates have different opening times, though all open either two or three hours before kickoff.

Notable policies related to entering the stadium are:

• Bags: The NFL’s clear bag policy is in effect. The Jaguars encourage fans not to bring any bags into the stadium.
• Cash/ATMs: TIAA Bank Field is cashless. No ATMs are available.
• Outside food is okay as long as it is unwrapped and placed inside a clear, one-gallon plastic bag no larger than 11 inches by 11 inches.
• One water bottle per attendee is allowed, as long as it is factory sealed and no larger than 16.9 fluid ounces. Empty misting fans are also allowed.
• Tablets and iPads are allowed, while laptops are prohibited.

Best tailgating takes a membership

Jacksonville has plenty of options for tailgating or grabbing a bite or drink before kickoff.

Most notably, the Bold City Brigade provides the best tailgate experience. You need to purchase a membership, but you will find yourself among hundreds of fans in a potluck-style tailgate sure to exceed your money’s worth. Of course, you will need to contribute, but who shows up empty-handed to a tailgate anyways?

If tailgating isn’t your vibe, there are some good restaurants near the stadium:

• Tailgate Bar and Grill, located just outside TIAA Bank Field
• Bellwether, a farm-to-table restaurant with outstanding burgers
• Cowford Chophouse, a higher-end steak joint with a nice rooftop bar

And who can forget breweries within walking distance to wash it all down?

• Ruby Beach Brewing opened a downtown taproom a mile from The Bank in 2021
• Bold City Downtown is a block from Ruby Beach (and next to Cowford Chophouse)
• Intuition Ale Works is the closest option to the stadium and has a rooftop
