New Jersey reports 10 increase in August total gaming revenue

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has reported total gaming revenue of $470.7m for August 2022, a 10% increase from the $427.7m reported in August 2021.

Leading the way was Borgata, with the venue reporting total gaming revenue of $120.7m for the period.

The figure includes revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners. For the year-to-date, total gaming revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners is $3.38bn, a 13% increase from the $2.99bn reported in the prior-year period.

Based upon filings with the Division of Gaming Enforcement, total casino win for the nine casino hotel properties in the state for August 2022 was $274m, representing a 4% increase from the $262.4m reported for August 2021.

Year-to-date total casino win for the properties totalled $1.88bn, representing a 14% climb from the $1.65bn reported for the prior-year period.

Internet gaming win for casinos and their partners for the month of August amounted to $131.4m, up 16% from the prior-year period, when internet gaming win was $113.2m.

For the year-to-date period, internet gaming win totalled $1.08bn, representing a 25% increase from the $866.1m reported in the prior year-to-date period.

And sports wagering gross revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $65.3m for the month of August 2022, which reflects a 26% increase when compared to the $52m reported in August 2021.

For the year-to-date, sports wagering gross revenue was $418.9m, a 12% decline when compared to the $475.3m reported for the prior-year period.
