The Florida Lottery made multiple millionaires this year, and they don’t seem to be stopping.
The organization announced this week the launch of a new $30 scratch-off game with a top prize of $15 million. The game, Florida 300X The Cash, has four $15 million prizes.
What would make things even better is if Floridians could purchase tickets online. Unfortunately, online sales of Florida lottery tickets are still prohibited in the Sunshine State.
Florida 300X The Cash aims to match any of the 25 numbers the player has to the eight winning numbers at the top of the ticket. If there’s a match, the player earns the prize shown. The game has multipliers of 5x to 300x. Also, three bonus spots provide prizes of $100 to $500 for any winning numbers that match.
Breaking down 300X The Cash’s payouts and odds
Players who purchase a 300X ticket have a 1 in 2.93 chance of winning a prize. One out of six players will win their money back, and one out of 10 will win $40.
The odds of taking home one of the four top prizes is 1 in 11.55 million, while the odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1 in 1.93 million.
There are more than 15 million Florida 300X The Cash winning tickets. Of those winning tickets, fewer than 150,000 have been claimed. None of the $15 million nor $1 million prizes have been won.
300X has more big prizes than other $30 games
Florida 300X The Cash is one of three $30 scratch-off games from the lottery and, as top prizes go, it’s the most lucrative. The game provides four $15 million prizes, 24 $1 million prizes and 100 prizes of $100,000. Billion Dollar Gold Rush Supreme, one of the other two $30 games, offers the same $15 million and $1 million prizes that 300X The Cash does, but only 20 prizes of $100,000.
There are a few other differences, too. For example, 300X tickets have 28 chances to win (25 winning numbers plus three bonus sports), whereas Billion Gold Rush Supreme and Fastest Road to $1,000,000 have 35 chances to win (30 winning numbers plus five bonus spots).
How to claim a prize
If you win prizes of less than $600, you can get your winnings from any Florida Lottery retailer. For prizes of $600 to $999,999 without an annual payment option, players have to go to a Lottery district office.
For prizes of at least $1 million or an annual payment option, players must go to the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Players do not need an appointment to claim prizes; walk-ins are accepted.
Winners also have the option of dropping off their winning tickets of $600 or more at district offices or headquarters or sending the winning ticket to a district office or headquarters. In both cases, players must include with their ticket any required supporting documentation.
