Sportradar is headed for sunnier climes after inking a new deal centred around Caribbean cricket.
Following a competitive tender process, the firm has forged an alliance with the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) to capture and distribute cricket data.
More specifically, Sportradar has been named official data partner, official betting streaming partner and official integrity partner of the Hero CPL, Massy Women’s CPL and the Sky Exch 6ixty competitions.
In addition to data, each year the firm will offer audiovisual streaming content from 38 CPL men’s and women’s matches and 19 6ixty men’s and women’s matches.
Sportradar will also supply embeddable components for the CPL website, such as a match ticker, and provide a new match centre that will deliver live scores and commentary, among other content.
Chris Watson, Head of Marketing at Hero CPL, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Sportradar for the Hero Caribbean Premier League, Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League and Sky Exch 6ixty.
“Their unrivalled match centre gives fans the ability to follow matches from our tournaments wherever they are which is another way we can bring our fantastic supporters even closer to the action.”
From a broader perspective, this deal builds on Sportradar’s existing cricket partnerships with organisations such as the International Cricket Council (ICC), Cricket Ireland and Tamil Nadu Premier League.
“This partnership will increase the Caribbean Premier League’s visibility around the world and contribute to its continual growth by connecting it with 2.5 billion cricket fans globally through Sportradar’s global customer network,” said Eric Conrad, Sportradar’s Managing Director for Strategic Partnerships and Content.
“We’re thrilled to be able to support the League and its athletes in reaching a new, global audience.”
