BMM Testlabs has added another US jurisdiction to its roster, this time on the East Coast.

Massachusetts, specifically the Bay State’s Gaming Commission, has given BMM the go ahead to test and certify sports wagering equipment.

Earlier this year, Massachusetts’ House and Senate passed a bill to legalise both retail and online sports betting. Governor Charlie Baker then signed this bill into law, but wagering has yet to go live in the Bay State.

As of now, no official date has been set, but an early 2023 start is expected, though some anticipate a late 2022 launch. Either way, BMM’s entry is well-timed.

The company is now accepting supplier submissions for testing and certifying sports wagering equipment in Massachusetts as it looks to make a head start in the Bay State.

“BMM is very pleased to have been approved to provide testing services for sports wagering equipment in Massachusetts,” said Travis Foley, BMM’s Chief Technology Officer.

He continued: “We look forward to utilising our decades of experience to provide our expert testing services for the state.

“We value our ongoing relationship with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission and would like to thank their staff for their continued cooperation and diligence during this process.”

Massachusetts is the latest US jurisdiction to approve BMM, coming after Nebraska and Ohio gave it the green light in July. This also comes shortly after BMM unveiled a new business unit, BIG: the BMM Innovation Group.

Meanwhile, in other Bay State news, Massachusetts recently reported $92m in casino revenue for August.
