The South Dakota Lottery has handed Scientific Games a new six-year deal, which will see the latter become the exclusive provider of instant scratch games in the US state.
The gaming company has a 30-year history with the South Dakota Lottery, as it has been providing scratch games for years – which have benefitted several schools, state universities and technical institutes. The new agreement expands upon the original deal, and could see a four-year extension triggered, depending on performance.
Norm Lingle, South Dakota Lottery Executive Director, said of the deal: “We’ve created great momentum with our instant game performance through our long-term partnership with Scientific Games to benefit important programs in our state.
“Our teams look forward to continued collaboration on the design and marketing of quality, secure, high-performance games that entertain South Dakota players.”
Meanwhile, John Schulz, President, Americas & Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, added: “We are honoured to be named the sole provider of South Dakota Lottery scratch games and will continue to support the Lottery in its mission to provide funding for vital state programs.
“We are focused on using our industry analytics and insights to innovate new products for the South Dakota Lottery to help achieve responsible growth.”
Earlier this month, Scientific Games also announced it had signed a deal to power the Latvian National Lottery. The agreement is part of the Latvian state’s drive for responsible growth and funding to the country’s budget, as well as other programmes for Latvian children, youth education and sports.
